Pharmacy Chain 36.6 launches the private label line for medical equipment07.06.2008 Pharmacy Chain 36.6 launches a new line of private label goods. 36.6 private label portfolio will be expanded with medical equipment and personal care home appliances. In the nearest months customers will find new tonometers, glucometers, masseurs, trimmers, hair driers, electrorazors, manicure-pedicure sets and many other goods under 36.6 brand at our pharmacies. This summer they will appear at 36.6 pharmacies in Moscow, and by the end of the year in all cities with population over 1 million people. Herman Inozemtsev, Deputy General Director and Director for Portfolio Development at Pharmacy Chain 36.6 commented: “We are pioneering the market. 36.6 is the first company in Russia to launch the line of medical equipment and personal care home appliances under own brand. We estimate, the product portfolio will contain up to 30—35 SKUs by the end of 2008. We will continue to grow the medical equipment and personal care home appliances line in the future, and plan to increase its share in total amount of private label sales up to 5—10% in 2009." The medical and consumer equipment will be produced by Russian and Asian companies, as well as European producers. Brief Summary on the private label:The 36.6 private label project was launched in July 2005, and today includes over 425 products in the most popular product categories. Since the beginning of 2006 the sales of private label have been growing at an average of 13% per month. As of late 2007 the private label products accounted for 2 to 3% of the turnover. It reached 4% today, and by 2010 we plan to increase its share to 10%. * Private label is a trade mark owned by a retail chain. Private label products are sold exclusively in the retail chain and are usually less expensive as compared to the branded products. The price difference is due to the absence of promotional expenses, external distributors and wholesalers. |
